The Cross River State Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, has announced the constitution of a Ministerial and Local Government Taskforce to drive compliance with the newly approved Education Reforms across the State. The reforms, recently approved by His Excellency, Governor Bassey Otu, are aimed at strengthening the delivery of quality education and repositioning the education sector in Cross River State.

According to Senator Odey, the taskforce—drawn from all 18 Local Government Areas as well as the Ministry’s headquarters—will be responsible for ensuring effective policy implementation, strict monitoring, and enforcement of compliance. He further explained that the committee comprises representatives of key stakeholders in the education sector, who will work collectively to safeguard and promote the success of the reforms.

The Commissioner appealed to parents, guardians, education stakeholders, and the general public to give maximum cooperation to the taskforce, noting that their support is critical to the attainment of the reforms’ objectives, as he also disclosed that the taskforce will be officially inaugurated in two weeks’ time.
